What is Google Analytics 4?
GA4 is Google's latest analytics platform that provides comprehensive insights about your website visitors - how many people visit, where they come from, what actions they take, how long they stay, and much more. This data helps you understand your audience and improve your website performance.
Part 1: Creating a GA4 Property

Open Google Analytics Dashboard
Open Google Analytics DashboardSign in with your Google account. If this is your first time, you'll see a "Start Measuring" button.

Create a New Property
In the left sidebar at the bottom, click the "Admin" button (gear icon).
- If you have an existing account: In the "Property" column, click "+ Create Property"
- If creating a new account: Enter your "Account name" first, then click "Next"

Fill in Property Details
Property name: Enter your website name (e.g., "My Business Website")
Reporting time zone: Select your country/timezone (e.g., "India" or "Asia/Kolkata")
Currency: Select your currency (e.g., "Indian Rupee (₹)" or "US Dollar ($)")
Click the "Next" button

Fill in Business Information
This step is optional but recommended. Select relevant information about your website:
- Industry category: Choose the category that best describes your business (e.g., Business services, E-commerce, Technology, etc.)
- Business size: Select your organization size (Small, Medium, or Large)
- How you plan to use Analytics: Check the boxes that apply to your use case
Click the "Create" button

Set Up Data Stream
Now you need to specify where your data will come from. Select the "Web" option (for websites).
- Website URL: Enter your complete website URL (e.g.,
https://yourwebsite.com) - Stream name: Give it a name (e.g., "Main Website" or "Production Site")

Copy Your Important IDs
Save These Two Important Values:
1. Measurement ID: This appears in the format "G-XXXXXXXXXX" (visible at the top right corner of the stream details page)
2. Property ID: This appears in the URL as "/pXXXXXXXXX" when you're on the property page
Important: Copy both IDs and save them in a safe place. You'll need these when configuring the portal.
Part 2: Creating Service Account & Setting Up API Access
This Section is Critical!
Without a Service Account, the portal cannot fetch data from GA4. Follow each step carefully to ensure proper API access.

Open Google Cloud Console
Open Google Cloud ConsoleSign in with the same Google account you used for Analytics

Create a New Project
At the top of the page, click the "Select a project" dropdown
Click "NEW PROJECT"
- Project name: Enter a name (e.g., "GA4 API Project")
- Location: Leave as "No organization" (default)
- Click "CREATE"
The project creation takes 10-20 seconds

Enable Google Analytics Data API
Direct Link: Analytics Data APIOr navigate manually:
- In the left sidebar, click "APIs & Services" → "Library"
- In the search box, type "Google Analytics Data API"
- Click on the result
- Click the "ENABLE" button
The API will be enabled in a few seconds

Create a Service Account
In the left sidebar, click "IAM & Admin" → "Service Accounts"
Click "+ CREATE SERVICE ACCOUNT" button at the top
Step 1: Service Account Details
- Service account name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "GA4 Analytics Reader")
- Service account ID: This will be auto-generated based on your name
- Description: Optional - add a note like "Service account for GA4 data access"
Click "CREATE AND CONTINUE"
Step 2: Grant Access (Optional)
You can skip this step. Simply click "CONTINUE"
Step 3: Grant Users Access (Optional)
You can skip this step too. Click "DONE"

Download JSON Key File
You'll now see your newly created service account in the list. Click on it to open the details page.
Navigate to the "KEYS" tab at the top
Click "ADD KEY" dropdown → Select "Create new key"
Key type: Select "JSON" (should be selected by default)
Click "CREATE"
JSON File Downloaded!
A file will be automatically downloaded with a name like:
project-name-123456-a1b2c3d4e5f6.jsonSave this file securely! You'll upload it to the portal.
Security Warning: Never share this file with anyone. It provides access to your GA4 data.

Copy Service Account Email
After downloading the JSON file, go back to the service account details page
At the top, you'll see an email address in this format:
ga4-analytics-reader@project-name-123456.iam.gserviceaccount.comCopy this entire email address - you'll need it in the next step

Add Service Account to Your GA4 Property
Return to the Google Analytics Dashboard:
Google Analytics Dashboard- In the left sidebar at the bottom, click "Admin" (gear icon)
- In the "Property" column, select your property
- Click "Property Access Management"
- In the top right corner, click the "+" button
- Select "Add users"
Configure User Access:
- Email addresses: Paste the service account email you copied earlier
- Roles: Select "Viewer" role (check the checkbox)
- "Notify new users by email": UNCHECK this option (service accounts don't receive emails)
Click "Add"
Perfect! Service Account Added Successfully!
Your service account now has read access to your GA4 property data.
Part 3: Common Problems & Solutions
Problem 1: "Access Denied" Error
Solution: Verify that you added the service account email to your GA4 Property with "Viewer" role. Go to Admin → Property Access Management and check if the service account email is listed.
Problem 2: JSON File Upload Failing
Solution: Check that:
- File size is under 2MB
- File extension is .json
- File isn't corrupted (download again from Google Cloud if needed)
- You're using the correct JSON key file (service account key, not API key)
Problem 3: No Data Showing in Portal
Solution: GA4 needs 24-48 hours to start collecting data for new properties. If your website is new, please wait. Also verify that:
- The Measurement ID is correctly added to your website
- Your website has actual visitor traffic
- You're checking the correct date range in the portal

What is Google Search Console?
Google Search Console (GSC) helps you monitor and maintain your website's presence in Google Search results. It shows you how often your site appears in search, which search queries lead to your site, how many people click through, your average position in search results, and identifies any technical issues Google encounters when crawling your site.
Part 1: Adding Your Website to Search Console

If this is your first time, click the "Start now" button
If you already have properties, click the property selector in the top left, then click "+ Add property"
Choose Property Type:
You'll see two options:
- Domain: Verifies all URLs across all subdomains and protocols (http/https). Example:
example.com - URL prefix: Verifies only URLs starting with a specific prefix. Example:
https://www.example.com
Which Option Should You Choose?
Recommended: URL prefix - This is easier to set up and works perfectly with our portal.
Enter your complete website URL including the protocol:

Choose Verification Method
Google will ask you to verify that you own the website. Several verification methods are available:
- HTML file - Upload a file to your website
- HTML tag - Add a meta tag to your homepage (Recommended)
- Google Analytics - Verify via your GA account
- Google Tag Manager - Verify via GTM
- Domain name provider - Add DNS record
Best Method: HTML Tag
The HTML tag method is the easiest. You simply copy a meta tag and add it to your website's header section.

You'll see a meta tag that looks like this:

Keep this page open! You'll need to come back here after adding the tag to your website.

Add Tag to Your Website
You need to add this meta tag to the
<head>section of your website.How to Add (depends on your platform):
- WordPress: Use your SEO plugin (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, etc.) - there's usually a "Google Search Console" or "Verification Code" field in the settings
- Custom HTML Website: Edit your header.php or index.html file and paste the tag inside the
<head>section - Website Builder (Wix, Squarespace, etc.): Look for SEO settings or "Header Code" section
- Other CMS: Find the "Header Code" or "Custom HTML" section in your admin panel
Save the changes and upload/publish your website

Complete Verification
Go back to the Search Console page where you copied the verification tag
Click the "Verify" button
Success Message!
You should see "Ownership verified" message
Click "Go to property" to access your Search Console dashboard
If Verification Fails
- Verify the meta tag is correctly placed in the
<head>section - Clear your website cache and wait 5-10 minutes
- Make sure the tag is on your homepage (index page)
- Try viewing your website's source code (right-click → View Page Source) to confirm the tag is there
- If still failing, try the "HTML file" method instead

Your portal can now fetch data from Search Console through the API.
Bing Webmaster Tools - Complete Setup Guide
What is Bing Webmaster Tools?
Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's platform for monitoring and optimizing your website's presence in Bing search results. Similar to Google Search Console, it provides insights about search traffic, keywords, clicks, and technical issues. Bing needs to verify that you own the website. Three verification methods are available:
